“Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.” - Terry Pratchett
Si? You have a question?
You wish to know why I cast no reflection? Your inquisitive nature may get you in trouble some night. But for now... si, I will explain.
The answer is simple: Darkness.
Scientists say darkness is the absence of light, they are fools. Darkness extends from the soul and Lasombra souls are darkest of all.
When a Lasombra chooses a potential child, they test them. They seek out and destroy everything that makes them who they are, all that they love, everything that gives their life light and meaning. In this way, we see if they can exist while emptied of light. Emptied of joy. Most shatter, minds incapable of coping. They are unfit. But those that withstand the test, are now emptied of light. Devoid of mercy. The perfect vessel to fill with the true joy of night.
You ask why I cast no reflection? I ask why you still do. You are weak, your soul emits even the faintest of light for the mirror to show to everyone. I am strong, my soul is void, no light escapes from the grasp of my will. Because of that, mirrors have nothing to capture.
You claim it is my curse, I claim it is a mark of honor.
Go now, and ask your questions of another clan. I tire of indulging you.
